Last Sunday, it was Holi. Much awaited by all of us at home. Shahana was particularly enthustiastic about participating in the festivities. In fact she was in full prep mode - her acquisitions included a water gun, some water baloons, two pichkari's .
Looking at her enthusiasm, we were actually very relived that this year, she will not cry herself crazy. Ok, a little background here: She has never liked Holis in the past so we were a bit apprehensive. All the crazy colors on everybody's faces, usually scares her.
Ultimately the big day came and much to our disappointment, it was pretty much the same story. She still doesn't like Holi and color play. So we had to leave little Shahana at another resident, who is friends and also doesn't like to play Holi. Once she was put in a safe place, Anshu and I had quite a blast.
It is Wednesday and I still have traces of color on my palms.
Looks like we will have to wait a couple of more years, before our baby becomes comfortable with this whole concept of holi and applying colors.
